THE ARCHIVE / LISTEN AND CHOOSE

Your sound

Eight short listens. In each one, two or three examples made on the spot — speed, bass, lead, mood, texture — and you pick whatever the body picks. At the end, the floor that is yours, with the right number and the source it came from. About four minutes; headphones recommended.

8 LISTENS NO ACCOUNT EVERY NUMBER SOURCED

The examples are synthesised on your device as you listen — kick, bass, hats, a line over the top. There are no samples from anyone’s record, which is why they sound like skeletons: what is being tested is the shape, not the production.

METHOD

Choices are counted without knowing who chose; the result is tied to an address only if you type one. The tempo ranges come from St John (2009) and Vitos (2009) in Dancecult, and from Beatport’s psy-techno launch (2026); the kick fundamental comes from a production guide and is marked as such. Goa trance has no number because the sources give none — and this archive does not invent numbers. Glossary → · Sources and method →
